At Breakthrough Band, we have made it a point to study the goals and directions of our personal endeavors as well as the readers who stand in our shoes, in order to develop a successful communication campaign hinged on results.  The media works hard to dive into the music industry and reveal its culture to consumers; with a glimpse of freedom, artistic expression, and individuality, consumers strive to celebrate their creativity in music.  The outlet for many of these consumers is to pursue music.  Breakthrough Band is about to hit the sweet spot of this creative generation of musicians and answer the questions, “How to start a band?" and "how to promote a band?".

 

First Paragraph: This is an introduction to Breakthrough Band.  A simple outline that will direct the rest of the summary and set up where the advertising strategy needs to go.  This is more of a contextual analysis of where Breakthrough Band enters into the market.

 

 

We know from first hand experience that there are challenges in starting a new band.  There is a common understanding that either luck or over-the-top talent determines the success of a band.  This must change, not only so that Breakthrough Band can grow and inspire others, but because there are so many individuals who could shape, mould, and positively impact music… and they need to be heard.  Starting a new band should be fun and should be life changing.  Success in this area should be based on the individuals and their shear tenacity.

 

Second Paragraph: Why are we here and what is context of this blog?  For a band, this paragraph may outline why you have chosen to start a band, what influences and inspirations got you here and what the purpose of your band is.  If you are following along with the “Starting a Band” series, you may already have outlined your purpose.

 

 

Breakthrough Band is targeting three specific consumers.  The entrepreneur is the heart and driving force of a new band and will take advice and push through obstacles.  The mentor is the established critic and support figure that will challenge topics and ideas in order to use his or her experience for the betterment of others.  The music junkie is the die-hard fan who learns about new music and new bands and shows support for the growth of others through encouragement.  These three consumers emulate different characteristics of Breakthrough Band and are vital to its success.  There is tremendous opportunity to reach out to these consumers and add real value by discussing, reviewing, and showcasing aspects of the music industry.

 

Third Paragraph: Who are the consumers, who are you targeting?  For Breakthrough Band, there are a few target audiences and Breakthrough Band hopes to capture each of these consumers differently.  Your band will have a style or genre and you must define who your target audience will be.  Who are the fans, where do they go, and how do you know they are the right people to target?

 

 

The budget is low and relatively undefined.  Most new bands start off with little money and must find ways to promote their band for free.  In the same way, Breakthrough Band has a limited budget.  Our message will be concise, our methods affordable, and our impact – revolutionary.  Our goal is not to bombard internet users and musicians to follow our advice with an open wallet.  Breakthrough Band is redefining how to start a band and market it.  We are feeding off of the consumers and regurgitating a system that works.  Part of our research shows that “music marketing” is searched 165, 000 times and “start a band” is searched 90, 500 times in Google each month.  We will utilize this search to provide insight and encouragement.

 

Fourth Paragraph:  Outline here what you have to work with.  Most starting bands will have a limited budget and that’s okay.  Breakthrough Band has a low budget as well.  There are many things you can do to promote a web site, a blog or a band with little capital.  Breakthrough Band also hinted at some of the research that has begun.  Breakthrough Band has established a need for the blog and plans to impact its audience with the resources that are available.

 

 

This is a blog designed to breakthrough.  We will breakthrough the clutter, breakthrough and nonsense, breakthrough the challenges, and break into a new position.  Breakthrough Band is designed for a second reason and that is to assist its creator in an equal pursuit of breaking through with a new band.

 

Within 6 months, Breakthrough Band will be fully operational and have increased its readership, interacting consistently with readers in an attempt to better understand, review, and direct.

 

There is something in each of us that pulses with each step… this pulse will breakthrough.

 

Final Message:  What do you stand for, who are you, where are you going, and why will your audience become attached to you.  These final words are the motivations and the songs that thrust you forward.  Breakthrough Band is designed to breakthrough messes and challenges!
